"The DREAM Act"

The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minor Act, also known as the Dream act, is a law being passed for undocumented students who were brought to the United States as minors and have attended and completed elemetary and secondary education in the U.S. The Supreme Court ruled in Plyer v. Doe that these students are not held reliable for their immigration status and therefore are entitled to public elemetary and secondary education. Unfortunately, this law does not provide citizenship of higher education for students after high school graduation. However, The "DREAM ACT" will provide these paths to success.
The Dream Act does not require states to provide any benefits to undocumented immigrant students and the Dream Act does not make these students eligible for financial aid. The Dream Act gives these student immigrants the oppurtunity to succeed in life at the same advantage as any other american and to take corrective measures to obtain legal immigration status.
The Dream Act is still in the process of being passed. President Barack Obama Passed the Dream Act. The house of representatives passed the Dream Act 216 to 198. Hopefully the Dream Act can pass and United States will not just be a mixture of two citizens but many diverse citizens working together from all over the world!!!

The State Of The Union.

On January 25, 2011 president Barack Obama gave the annual State of the Union speech to Congress. This speech gives the president the oppurtunity to give information about the nation and also tells his outline of his goals to fix the nations issues. Within Obamas speech he made a note of giving us three main steps of becoming a better economy as a whole.
The first step to becoming a better economy was Encouraging American Inovation. Meaning america's invitions such as internet, transportation, and manufactoring companies that makes american more inovative. America can spark the creativity of our people. Investing in better research and education will bring new industries and more jobs.
The second step of becoming a better economy is Good Schools and Great Education. Educating the kids of the next generation. Why?? The next ten years every job is going to require education more than just a highschool diploma but a college education so America needs to pass on knowledge to the next generation and give every child a chance of success. Even immigrants. Stop deporting children back to other countries to compete against us after recieving our education when they can benefit us in the future.
The third step to becoming a better economy is Rebuilding America. Thinking of faster more reliable ways of moving people, goods and information across shores to attract more businessess to our nation. Working harder to be that number one nation we once was. Helping to communicate from every part of america! Strenthening social security and also stopping debt. FIX WHAT NEEDS FIXING!

The Tucson Tragedy!!

On Sunday, January 8th 2011, a shooting occured in Tucson, Arizona. The gunman of the shooting was a twenty-two year man by the name of Jared Lee Loughner. Due to his outrageous behavior there were 6 deaths including a nine year old girl and a federal judge, and 13 people were reported to have been wounded and among those there were a Arizona Congresswomen Democratic Representative Gabrielle Gifford.
There were no reports found on why the gunman would commit such a crime but because of his actions he has been filed with five charges, and a possible death penalty.
Now due the Tucson Tragedy the dead issue is brought to a Gun Control problem. And the question is why are there guns being given to people like Loughner who has a mental condition and is a potential harm to others. One Person quoted that "it is as easy to buy a gun as it is to buy a latte from Starbucks!"
I do believe there should be something done about the the easy access to guns and there should be be more control over who gets them and only under certain conditions should they be used.
